Come to the Manresa Water and Textile Museum (MAT) and enjoy a unique experience, just minutes from Montserrat.

Discover the history and evolution of the Catalan and Manresa textile industry from the late Middle Ages to the present day through the exhibition dedicated to ribbon making, a sector that made Manresa an international benchmark.

You can also learn about the history of the Manresa Canal, an impressive 26-kilometer waterway built in the 14th century that, more than six hundred years later, continues to carry water to the Bages region and reaches more than 150,000 people.

The Manresa Water and Textile Museum (MAT) opened in 1992 inside the city's spectacular water reservoirs, now restored and transformed into a unique museum space. It houses two permanent exhibitions: one dedicated to the history of water and the construction of the Acequia, one of Catalonia's great medieval engineering works, and another dedicated to the textile industry, which allows visitors to discover the evolution of the sector thanks to a collection of machinery unique for its variety and excellent state of preservation. If you visit Montserrat, the MAT is an ideal way to complete your day with a different cultural experience, suitable for all ages.
