Walk on ice and learn about a volcano
Tour a glacier near one of Iceland's well-known volcanoes as part of a small group.
Begin in Vík, meet your group, and travel to the glacier in a vehicle equipped for the terrain.
Ride across plains of black sand bordered by mountains and ice to reach the glacier's edge. Put on the necessary gear, such as crampons and a helmet.
Walk for a distance of about 1 to 2 km across uneven terrain to access the ice cave. Inside, observe formations of dark volcanic ash layered with ice.
