Faunia is a theme and nature park in Madrid that covers 16 hectares and is home to more than 1,200 animals of 152 species, organised into 4 distinct ecosystems: The Jungle, the Polar Ecosystem, the African Forest and the Temperate Forest. Each area is designed to replicate the natural habitat of the species, with specific conditions of light, humidity and temperature.
In The Jungle, visitors can observe manatees and macaws in a tropical environment. The Polar Ecosystem allows you to see penguins of various species in an environment that simulates Antarctica. In the African Forest, lemurs and exotic birds from Madagascar can be found, while the Temperate Forest is home to animals such as the muntjac and the demoiselle crane.
The park also includes themed areas such as a nocturne and a karst grotto, where various species and ecosystems can be observed. In addition, Faunia offers educational activities and talks on conservation and endangered species, collaborating with organizations such as the Parques Reunidos Foundation and EAZA. In short, Faunia guarantees an educational and entertaining experience about nature for the whole family.
