Isolated on one of the peaks of the Sintra Mountains, the Moorish Castle is a fortification founded in the 10th century during the period when the Moors occupied the Iberian Peninsula. Its famous walls wind through the hills with their granite blocks interlacing rocks and cliffs. It offers unique views over the city.
